Experience
In high school I took six AP classes and received a 3 or higher on all. I previously attended Binghamton University and would help international or ESL students with their English. I was also a speaking assistant for a college level ESL class. I would love to be a tutor because being able to explain a topic clearly to someone who is having trouble with it is rewarding for me and the student. When he or she is able to take what I have thought them and apply it to the course and actually understand it, then I know I have done my job. I speak fluent Spanish and have a knowledge of French and Greek. Studying Linguistics gives me a strong background on the English language and its structures. I've worked about two part-time jobs dealing with customer service, so I know the importance of communication skills. I applied to the Teacher's Preparation Program at Stony Brook University in hopes of pursing a career in TESOL teaching, so being a tutor is a step forward in what I hope to accomplish in my future.

Hobbies
I was captain of my high school tennis team and still play leisurely today. I enjoy travelling and learning about different cultures. The beach is my favorite place to be no matter the season.
